(SOUNDBITE) (English) GREEK RIDER VASILIS BOUDROS, SAYING: “It's the second year in a row that it's the 24 hours. It's in beautiful Itea. It's a beautiful environment. Last year it was really challenging with rain, snow, hard weather, and fog. It was really tough. This year we're hoping and wishing to be a little bit better. As it looks, the weather will be nice with nice temperatures and no extreme weather conditions. So we're just looking forward to having fun.” 6.  (SOUNDBITE) (English) GERMANY RIDER LARS SANGER, SAYING: “The biggest effort we should find is to have the equality, like the rhythm for the whole race, because the race is really, really long. And if you push too hard in the daylight in the beginning, you will end up really, really tired and come in slow. And this can be dangerous in the night, because there are such a lot of different soils and grounds; you have rocky mountain ways, you have muddy paths. You have dusty roads, so it's a big, big mix where you need to swap every single hour or half an hour.” 7. VARIOUS START LINE SHOTS 8. VARIOUS  RACING SHOTS 9. WINDMILL    10. RACING SHOTS 11. VASILIS BOUDROS CELEBRATING WITH SECOND PLACE WINNER JOSEPH BOUTSAXIS  AND THIRD PLACE WINNER GERASIMOS GKOKAS  STORY: Motorcyclists battled through fog-shrouded mountain tracks and chilly October nights as the annual Hellas Rally 24 Hours unfolded along Greece's scenic coastline over the weekend. The two-day endurance event, staged from October 25-26 in the picturesque seaside town of Itea, saw participants cover more than 700 kilometers despite organisers canceling one stage due to safety concerns. With the rally bivouac pitched near the Mediterranean waters, riders faced three demanding special stages that tested both their navigation skills and nerve. The second stage proved particularly gruelling, forcing competitors to navigate through the night at altitudes reaching 1,400 meters on fog-covered mountain trails. While temperatures remained chilly throughout the weekend, the absence of rain helped keep the challenging terrain relatively manageable for the hardy field of competitors. The rally featured two categories, with Greek rider Vasilis Boudros claiming victory in the traditional roadbook navigation class ahead of Joseph Boutsaxis and Gerasimos Gkokas. In the GPS-assisted category, Ralph Uhlig topped the podium, followed by Michal Janaszek and Gregor Haedrich. (Production: Bhagya Ayyavoo)
