POLICE OFFICERS OUTSIDE MONUMENTAL STADIUM STORY: Passion ran high in Lima as Palmeiras and Flamengo fans gathered outside Monumental Stadium on Saturday (November 29) ahead of the Copa Libertadores final.  Thousands of supporters of the two Brazilian football giants.traveled to Peru for the match, chanting and cheering as they approached the stadium. "It's a dream," said Claudio Morandini, a Palmeiras fan. While most exchanges remained spirited, moments of friction emerged, with some fans seen arguing across security fences and engaging in heated taunts. However, the mood wasn't all confrontational. One couple – a Palmeiras and a Flamengo fan – shared a kiss while proclaiming "peace and love." Flamengo fan Janio Rolim was confident about his team's chances, predicting a 3-0 victory. "I'm very excited, it's really a dream, and we're going to win," he said.
