RYBAKINA TAKING APPLAUSE STORY: Former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina raced past Amanda Anisimova 6-3 6-1 her opening match at the WTA Finals in Riyadh on Saturday (November 1). In their first career meeting, sixth seed Rybakina converted 80% (4/5) of break points to wrap-up the win in under an hour. Next up for Rybakina is world number two Iga Swiatek who also got off to a winning start in the Steffi Graff group, trouncing Madison Keys 6-1 6-2. The WTA Finals, which features the top eight singles players and doubles teams in the world, has a record prize pool of $15.5 million and offers 1,500 points in the rankings.
