(SOUNDBITE) (English) NORDIC OPEN 2025 CHAMPION CASPER RUUD TALKING ABOUT WINNING IN SWEDEN, SAYING:  "Of course, I'm really happy and to win here in Stockholm is a little bit of a childhood dream because it's close to Norway and all the legends have played here in the past, you know, (Roger) Federer, (Rafael) Nadal, (Bjorn) Borg, (John) McEnroe, you name it. So it's an honour to get a title here." STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (OCTOBER 18, 2025) (ATP MEDIA/IMG – See restrictions before use) 9. VARIOUS OF RUUD WITH TROPHY STORY: Casper Ruud is the first Norwegian to win the Nordic Open after he beat France's Ugo Humbert in straight sets in Sunday's (October 19) final. Ruud dominated the match, dropping just three points on serve and making 22 winners. He swept Humbert aside, who was looking for his seventh tour title, taking the first set 6-2. Humbert produced some flashes of brilliance in the second set but was no match in the end for Ruud who told the crowd that winning in Stockholm had been a "childhood dream". "All the legends have played here in the past, you know, Federer, Nadal, Borg, McEnroe, you name it – so it's an honour to get a title here," he said. Ruud is now a 14-time tour-level champion, and the title in Stockholm is his second of 2025. (Production: Simon Ormiston)
