Asaji edged South Korea's Wang Jeung-hun at the Singapore Island Country Club's New Course after Wang found water with his second shot during the play-off and carded a bogey six. Both players had finished on 19-under par, with Wang forcing the play-off after sinking a dramatic, snaking 4-metre birdie putt at the 18th hole. Thailand's Rattanon Wannasrichan and South Korea's Lee Soo-min tied for third, just one shot behind the leaders. Asaji started Sunday's final round in spectacular fashion, securing five consecutive birdies from the second hole and grabbing an early lead that he never relinquished, finishing with a five-under-par 67. His victory makes him the sixth Japanese player to lift the Singapore Open trophy in the event's 64-year history, following Kesahiko Uchida's win 49 years ago. The win caps off a strong run for Asaji, who finished tied for second in the Philippines two weeks ago. He has now moved to second in the International Series standings behind Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent. The top two players in the standings will earn spots in the high-stakes LIV Golf League for the 2026 season.
