The celebrations followed Senegal’s dramatic AFCON triumph in Morocco, where they defeated the hosts 1–0 after extra time in a final marked by controversy, long stoppages, and a late missed Moroccan penalty, before Senegal scored the decisive goal to claim a second continental title. Captain Kalidou Koulibaly led the team into the palace holding the trophy, followed by his teammates, as crowds outside waved flags and chanted. Addressing the ceremony, Koulibaly praised coach Pape Bouna Thiaw for instilling discipline, resilience and humility, saying those values reflected the identity of Senegalese football. President Faye received the trophy and announced financial and land rewards for players, officials and delegation members, before decorating the squad. The ceremony ended with a performance by singer Youssou N'Dour, as Senegal’s victory continued to fuel nationwide celebrations. (Production: Ngouda Dione)
