PROTESTERS SINGING “Antifascist Catalonia” STORY: Thousands of people marched through Spain's Barcelona on Tuesday (November 18) ahead of a friendly soccer match between the Palestinian and Catalonia soccer teams. Holding Palestinian and Catalan separatist flags, protesters chanted slogans and lit flares as more than 30 thousand people are expected to attend the match regional authorities said was being organised to promote "peace and solidarity". The Palestinian national soccer team played another friendly match against Basque Country's regional squad last Saturday (November 15). Spain recognised a Palestinian state in May and has been critical of Israel's offensive in Gaza with several protests held across the country recently.
