Livigno, which will stage snowboarding and freestyle skiing, woke up to soft snow which increased in intensity as the sun came up in the morning. The snow blanketed the Alpine town where the FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) had previously raised concerns over snow levels for the competitions. By midday, the early morning heavy snow was reduced to flurries with the sun breaking out of the clouds. The snow delayed the first inspection and testing event at the ski venues by two hours. Livigno will host its first event, the men's snowboard big air qualification, on Thursday (February 5), the day before Friday's (February 6) opening ceremony.
