OWEN GIVING INTERVIEW 10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER ENGLAND STRIKER MICHAEL OWEN, SAYING: "So yeah, there are no complaints. Obviously, Everton getting there ahead of Liverpool is an interesting one, and Manchester City's ground in there ahead of Old Trafford. Tottenham Stadium is wonderful, no one can complain there, Emirates missing out, I guess. But listen, as I say, I don't think there's any slant on certain stadiums; it's just a geographical thing." 11. OWEN, COLLINS, GIVEN AND WILLIAMS POSING FOR PHOTOS 12. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER WALES CENTRE BACK ASHLEY WILLIAMS, SAYING: "I think it's absolutely massive that Cardiff gets to host the first game. I think barring the final, it's probably the biggest game. I remember opening up the game in Qatar in the World Cup, and that was massive. So it's a really big thing for Wales and Cardiff to host the opening game, and that sets the tone for the rest of the tournament." 13. WILLIAMS GIVING INTERVIEW 14. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FA CHIEF EXECUTIVE MARK BULLINGHAM, SAYING: "So we're really excited about the two Euros coming up, it's going to be 3 million tickets, it'll be the biggest and best ever. And obviously, we've got a good number of matches taking place across England, as well as our home nations and Irish colleagues." 15. VARIOUS OF EURO 2028 BRANDING 16. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FA CHIEF EXECUTIVE MARK BULLINGHAM, SAYING: "We're really confident, as are UEFA, that Wembley can host events brilliantly. Obviously, there are some unique circumstances about the event you’re referring to. We're very confident we can do a good job." 17. EURO 2028 BRANDING 18. Other venues awarded Euro 2028 matches include Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, in a tournament that will feature 51 matches involving 24 nations. The tournament, co-hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, will run across nine venues in eight cities, announced at a launch event in central London, attended by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. UEFA's presence attracted a small demonstration, attended by police, in protest of Israel's inclusion in UEFA sanctioned events, and at times, could be clearly heard during the official launch show. The tournament is projected to generate 3.6 billion pounds ($4.83 billion) in socio-economic benefits for the UK and Ireland between 2028 and 2031, according to an independent assessment, UEFA said. In May, Europe's soccer governing body UEFA said England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales would participate in qualifying for Euro 2028, with only two spots reserved if they do not make it to the tournament. Belfast has been chosen to host the Euro 2028 qualifying draw, scheduled to take place in Northern Ireland's capital on December 6, 2026. England finished runners-up at Euro 2024 while Scotland were knocked out in the group stage. Wales and Ireland did not qualify for last year's tournament hosted by Germany.
