FINAL WHISTLE STORY: Al Nassr dominated but struggled to find the back of the net with the only goal in their 1-0 win over Al Taawoun on Monday (January 26) coming from an own goal.      Right out of the gates, Cristiano Ronaldo cut through the defense to meet a lofty cross, but his shot hit the crossbar and ricocheted out less than a minute and a half into the match.      Just after the three-minute mark, defender Mohamed Simakan headed home off a free kick from Ronaldo, but the effort was called back for offside.      Adding to the 'almost theres', Ronaldo had a goal of his own disallowed for offside just 17 minutes later.      Finally, just before the end of regulation time in the first half, Sadio Mane put up a high cross, Al Taawoun defender Morammed Waleed Al-Dossary tried to clear it with his head, but it hit instead hit the ground just before the goal line and bounced in, with Ronaldo smartly ducking out of the way to let it go in on it’s own.      Mane hit the woodwork with a rocket early in the second half with Ronaldo and Joao Felix also having chances thwarted, but none were able to make the mark with the game ending 1-0 despite a forceful display by the hosts.      The win keeps Al Nassr in contention with 40 points from 17 matches, level with Al Ahli, but still five a drift of league leaders Al Hilal who drew 1-1 with Al Riyadh on Sunday (January 25).
