"Witnessed an outpouring of love.," Delhi CM Rekha Gupta hails diplomats' participation in 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' drive

New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in a tree plantation drive under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, joined by Ambassadors and High Commissioners from over 70 countries.

The event, held in the capital, saw diplomats planting trees in honour of their mothers, celebrating the universal bond of motherhood while promoting environmental conservation.

CM Gupta described the initiative as a heartfelt tribute to both mothers and the motherland, stating, “Maa’ will always be ‘Maa’–a universal symbol of love for everyone. Today, I witnessed an outpouring of love through PM Modi’s deeply emotional mission, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.’ This initiative has touched hearts, inspiring people to honour their mothers and their motherland. Ambassadors from across the world praised this unique campaign, holding nameplates of their mothers as they planted trees. This initiative is not only about protecting the environment but also about cherishing the memory of ‘Maa.’ Through this, we will make Delhi greener and more vibrant.”

Participating in the initiative, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said PM Modi’s birthday is marked as ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ with the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, drawing participants from several countries.

“We are celebrating PM Modi’s birthday as ‘Sewa Pakhwada,’ during which we launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. This campaign saw participation from 72 countries, with ambassadors and dignitaries coming to India to plant trees, reflecting the profound global impact of PM Modi’s appeal. The emotional resonance of this initiative is truly remarkable. For instance, one ambassador was moved to tears, sharing that her mother passed away a year ago, and planting a tree made her feel she had done something meaningful for her mother. Another ambassador brought his mother, while yet another came with their entire family,”

He thanked PM Modi, Rekha Gupta, and Bhupendra Yadav for the inspiring initiative.

“These moments highlight two powerful truths: the global reverence for PM Modi’s vision and the collective commitment to safeguarding nature and the environment. This is a truly inspiring initiative, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi, Rekha Gupta, and Bhupendra Yadav for making it possible,” he said. (ANI)
