The 1-7 Saints are handing the keys of the offense to rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. New Orleans coach Kellen Moore informed Spencer Rattler and Shough of the change on Tuesday. Shough replaced Rattler late in the third quarter of last weekend's 23-3 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shough will make his first start, with Rattler as his backup, when the Saints visit the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) on Sunday. A second-round pick in April out of Louisville, Shough was selected 40th overall and competing for the starting job in training camp. Rattler was a fifth-rounder in 2024 out of South Carolina. Shough, 26, completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards with an interception against the Buccaneers. Rattler, 25, completed 68% of his passes for 1,586 yards, eight touchdowns and five picks in eight starts this season. –Field Level Media
