Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 18 (ANI): Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent vote theft allegations, claiming the Leader of the Opposition lacks a basic understanding of how the electoral system functions.
Reddy stated that Gandhi lacks an understanding of the Election Commission’s functioning, the Supreme Court’s role, and even foreign policy.
Speaking to ANI, G Kishan Reddy said, “…Not a single question raised by Rahul Gandhi is understood by the people of the country. Rahul Gandhi doesn’t even know who prepares the voter list… The state government administration has a role in it… The central government has no involvement in this. The central government neither calls officials nor appoints them… “
“He (Rahul Gandhi) is insulting everyone from government employees working across the country to senior officials. This is wrong. Rahul Gandhi has no faith in any system of the country…Rahul Gandhi doesn’t know how the Election Commission or the Supreme Court functions, he doesn’t know how to behave in the Lok Sabha, he doesn’t know what foreign policy is… It is unfortunate for our country to have such a leader as the Leader of Opposition,” Reddy said.
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the Election Commission of India for allegedly “not cooperating” with the voter fraud investigation opened up by the Karnataka Crime Investigation Department (Karnataka CID) in the Aland assembly segment in the Kalaburagi district.
The leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha has claimed that the investigation into the alleged fraud has been stalled for over 2 years as the poll body is not replying to the letters sent by the CID, calling it “proof” that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is “protecting vote chors (vote thieves).
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India dismissed all allegations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding “vote chori”, mentioning that no voter’s name can be deleted by a member of the public through online.
“Allegations made by Rahul Gandhi are incorrect and baseless. No deletion of any vote can be done online by any member of the public, as misconceived by Rahul Gandhi. No deletion can take place without giving an opportunity to be heard to the affected person,” the ECI said in a statement.
The ECI also said that allegations made by Rahul Gandhi against CEC Gyanesh Kumar are baseless and incorrect. (ANI)
