MEXICO CITY, Oct 25 (Reuters) – Lando Norris put his McLaren on pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix on Saturday with Formula One championship-leading teammate Oscar Piastri set to start seventh. The Briton, 14 points behind the Australian in the standings with five rounds remaining, beat Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to the top spot. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton will start third, with Mercedes' George Russell fourth. Red Bull's reigning world champion Max Verstappen, 40 points behind Piastri, qualified fifth. Piastri was eighth but will move up a place because Williams' Carlos Sainz, in seventh, has a five-place grid drop. (Reporting by Alan Baldwin, editing by Ed Osmond)
