Dak Prescott (4 TDs), Cowboys roll as Jets fall to 0-5

Dak Prescott passed for 237 yards and a season-high four touchdowns to help the Dallas Cowboys roll to a 37-22 victory over the woeful New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at East Rutherford, N.J. Javonte Williams rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown and also had a scoring reception, and Jake Ferguson caught two scoring passes for the Cowboys (2-2-1). George Pickens caught a touchdown pass and Ryan Flournoy had six receptions for 114 yards for Dallas. Prescott, who completed 18 of 29 passes, has thrown seven touchdown passes over the past two games. The Cowboys racked up five sacks and broke open a close game by scoring two touchdowns in the final minute of the first half. Dallas scored 30 straight points after falling behind 3-0. Justin Fields was 32-of-46 passing for 283 yards and two touchdowns as the Jets became the first team in NFL history to start 0-5 without forcing a single turnover. Breece Hall rushed for 113 yards but lost a key fumble and Garrett Wilson and Andrew Beck caught touchdown passes. The end of the first half was devastating for the Jets. New York trailed 10-3 and was driving toward a possible tie but Marist Liufau punched the ball out of Hall's grasp at the Dallas 13-yard line and Sam Williams recovered at the 9 with 2:18 left. The Cowboys then drove 91 yards on seven plays with Williams scoring on a 5-yard run with 57 seconds left to boost their lead to 14. The Jets then went three-and-out and punted the ball with Dallas taking over with 29 seconds remaining. Williams ran 66 yards to the New York 1 on the first play and Prescott threw a scoring pass to Ferguson on the next to make it 23-3 with 15 seconds left. The contest became more one-sided in the third quarter when Prescott tossed a 43-yard scoring pass to Pickens with 4:33 left. Pickens burnt New York's Sauce Gardner as the Cowboys lead grew to 27. Nick Folk booted a 48-yard field goal with 57 seconds left in the period to halt a run of 30 consecutive Dallas points. Fields hit Beck on a 1-yard scoring pass with 7:56 left in the game and followed with a two-point conversion throw to Mason Taylor to pull New York within 30-14. After Williams caught a 4-yard TD pass for Dallas with 4:31 left, Fields hit Wilson on a 9-yard score with 1:42 left and followed with a two-point toss to Josh Reynolds. The teams traded field goals in the first quarter — Folk from 25 yards for the Jets, Brandon Aubrey from 35 for the Cowboys — before Dallas took a 10-3 lead on Prescott's 26-yard scoring pass to Ferguson with 11:40 left in the first half. –Field Level Media
