CORRECTED-Australia shares set to open slightly higher

(Corrects to remove references in headline and paragraph 3 to New Zealand market as that market is closed) Oct 27 (Reuters) – Australian shares are likely to open slightly higher on Monday on the back of potential gains in gold stocks as bullion prices trimmed losses, while local investors await a monthly consumer price index print, due later in the week. The local share price index futures rose 0.3%, a 42.0-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index close. The benchmark ended the week with marginal gains on Friday. New Zealand markets are closed for a public holiday. (Reporting by Shivangi Lahiri in Bengaluru; Editing by Nia Williams)
