LOS ANGELES — Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer left Game 3 of the World Series in the seventh inning with an apparent side injury. Leading off the inning, Springer hit a foul ball against Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski when he grabbed at his right side and called a member of the team's training staff to the plate. Springer immediately left the field. Ty France replaced Springer at the plate and inherited an 0-1 count before eventually striking out. Springer was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game after he entered 3-for-8 with a double and two runs scored over the first two games of the series. He left with the game tied 4-all. The 36-year old batted .309 with 32 home runs and 84 RBIs in 140 games this season. In 12 seasons for the Houston Astros and Blue Jays he is a career .266 hitter with 293 home runs and 796 RBIs in 1,445 regular-season games. In 81 postseason games, he has batted .264 with 23 home runs and 47 RBIs. The four-time All-Star was a member of the Astros' 2017 World Series championship club. –Doug Padilla, Field Level Media
