"Bihar and its rich history, legacy will be at centre stage tomorrow": KC Venugopal, says CWC meeting a commitment of party towards state's welfare

New Delhi [India], September 23 (ANI): As Congress gears up for its working committee’s meeting tomorrow in poll-bound Bihar, Congress MP KC Venugopal on Tuesday said that that the meeting is a message to the people of the state on the party’s commitment to welfare as the state continued to face “politics of social justice” and “destruction of the Constitution”.

“Tomorrow, 24th September, the Extended Congress Working Committee will meet in Patna under the esteemed leadership of INC President Sh. Mallikarjun @kharge ji. As we gear up for the historic occasion, Bihar and its rich history and legacy will be at the centre stage tomorrow. From the time of the freedom struggle, when Bapu launched the Champaran Satyagraha, to the emergence of stalwarts like Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Babu Jagjivan Ram, Bihar has been deeply pivotal in the Congress’ legacy,” Venugopal posted on X.

“Today, as Bihar again faces a crossroads between the politics of hope, social justice and development on one side, and hatred, violence, and histrionic unemployment and destruction of the Constitution on the other – our CWC meeting is being held here to send a message to the people of Bihar about our commitment to Bihar’s welfare,” the post read.

Further, targeting the BJP over the alleged ‘Vote Chori’ and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, Venugopal said that the INDIA Bloc was able to warn the people about the BJP’s “nefarious ways” to “rig” the upcoming election.

“Bihar has also been witness to the BJP’s worst attempt at election rigging so far – the hastily done, botched up SIR. In response to the SIR, as well as the rampant vote chori done by the BJP across India, our Voter Adhikar Yatra led by LOP Sh. @RahulGandhi ji, Ex. DyCM Sh. @yadavtejashwi ji and the INDIA alliance was able to warn the people about the BJP’s nefarious ways and fight against their efforts to rig the upcoming election – just like they did in Haryana and Maharashtra,” the post read.

The meeting takes place amid a nationwide agitation against alleged vote tampering, with a signature campaign underway across the country. The upcoming Bihar elections are expected to be a major topic of discussion, given the state’s political significance. (ANI)
