US appeals court to reconsider airline fees decision

(Reuters) -A federal appeals court on Thursday said it will reconsider its recent holding that the U.S. Department of Transportation has authority to write rules governing disclosures of airline fees. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ordered "en banc" review by all active judges of the January 28 decision by a three-judge panel. Several airlines had challenged a rule adopted last year they said would "upend the way airlines interact with their customers, at great cost, and with no demonstrated benefit."
