CHELSEA MANAGER, LIAM ROSENIOR, AND CHELSEA MIDFIELDER, MOISES CAICEDO, AT START OF PRESS CONFERENCE 2. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHELSEA MANAGER, LIAM ROSENIOR, ON COLE PALMER, SAYING: JOURNALIST, ASKING:     "Just a double-barreled question really, just to confirm that Cole Palmer is in the squad, he has traveled?”| ROSENIOR, SAYING:     “He’s here.” JOURNALIST, ASKING:     “And you will have seen the speculation regarding Cole Palmer. Is he untouchable, is he happy?" ROSENIOR, SAYING:     "Yes and yes. It’s simple, Cole's an incredible player like I have the guy sitting next to me, many players in the group. It's—I'm not surprised at the timing, new manager comes in all of a sudden, there’s people unsettled. It's not true. Cole is here, he’s very happy and I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch." JOURNALIST, ASKING:     "And before Monday, any updates on Raheem (Sterling)?" ROSENIOR, SAYING:     "No, not for now." 3. WHITE FLASH 4. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHELSEA MANAGER, LIAM ROSENIOR, ON COLE PALMER, SAYING:     "There’s no reason for an assurance; it’s so unrealistic. It’s come from nowhere, there’s nothing in it. There’s no reason to have the conversation. That’s where I’m at. Cole is very happy. I’ve had numerous conversations with him. Our thoughts on how we can make this team better, how he can improve and how I can help him because he loves being here and he wants to be a Chelsea player. You can’t stop speculation, but some speculation is so far from the truth there’s no point having a discussion about it." 5. WHITE FLASH 6. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHELSEA MANAGER, LIAM ROSENIOR, SAYING:     "Napoli are a great team. They proved that last year with a fantastic title win. They have outstanding individuals, they have a world-class coach. They’re still in the position where they can get through. We’re aware of that. I think it will make for an exciting game because Napoli have to win, and also for us to have a realistic chance of the top eight, we also need to win." 7. WHITE FLASH 8. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHELSEA MANAGER, LIAM ROSENIOR, ON NAPOLI COACH, ANTONIO CONTE, SAYING:     "Huge respect for him, firstly as a player. A magnificent footballer who then went on to have an incredible and still has an incredible career as a coach. I think his passion as a player transmits to the passion in his teams. And obviously, when I was younger, watching Chelsea play in the manner that they did, defensively so strong. (Eden) Hazard was incredible in those moments. Yeah, and he’s gone on to prove what an amazing manager he is and he’s won many titles, including an incredible title here last year." 9. WHITE FLASH 10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHELSEA MIDFIELDER, MOISES CAICEDO, SAYING:     "I think a player doesn’t like to get yellow cards or red cards. For sure, I need to learn from that. But that’s why people recognise me, because I’m very aggressive but getting the ball back, not with bad intentions. So yeah, I try to help to my team, that’s the way I play and sometimes that’s the risk I need to take. So, yeah it’s all good and I’m going to keep playing like this because it’s my style and yeah for sure I’m helping a lot to the team, so I will keep doing that." 11. WHITE FLASH 12. END OF PRESS CONFERENCE STORY: Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior once again found himself having to forcefully deny reports that Cole Palmer was leaving the Premier League club, even as he focuses on defeating Napoli and the battle to remain in the Champions League's top eight for a direct qualification for the round of 16.     Palmer has scored 48 goals for Chelsea in all competitions since joining the club in 2023 and was key to last year's Club World Cup-winning campaign.     However, his game time has been restricted this season due to a persistent groin injury and a broken toe, with British media reporting this week that the 23-year-old was unsettled and open to a move.     Rosenior again denied this rumors on Tuesday (January 27) and confirmed that Palmer had traveled to Naples for their final Champions League group stage match and that the midfielder was “very happy.”     “It’s come from nowhere, there’s nothing in it. There’s no reason to have the conversation. That’s where I’m at. Cole is very happy,” Rosenior said.      Chelsea currently sit in eighth place on 13 points and are in a tight battle for a top eight finish making a win at Napoli crucial for avoiding a playoff.      Napoli on the other hand, are fighting for survival and are currently in 25th place on eight points, with only the top 24 teams qualifying for a playoff opportunity to reach the last 16.
